OKU Parking Stickers

Information about the application of OKU Parking Stickers in Malaysia.

OKU Parking Stickers

In Malaysia, regulations stipulate that only OKU cardholders with the category of “physical disabilities” are eligible to apply for OKU Parking Stickers and use disabled/accessible parking bays.

However, some considerate individuals allow persons with disabilities or older adults without the requisite OKU card and sticker to use disabled/accessible parking bays. They recognize that accessible parking bays also benefit other groups of individuals, such as:

  • Older adults with mobility challenges and/or have difficulty walking long distances;
  • Individuals with temporary limitations in mobility due to recovery from injuries, illnesses or surgeries; and
  • Caregivers or care partners of persons with disabilities, older adults and individuals with temporary disabilities.

The application for an OKU Parking Sticker can be made from the Road Transport Department (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan, JPJ).

OKU Parking stickers are only available to OKU cardholders under the category of “physical disabilities”.

You can only apply for an OKU Parking Sticker for one (1) vehicle. The vehicle must be registered under the name of the OKU cardholder or their next-of-kin/guardian (waris).

The next-of-kin or guardian of the OKU cardholder must be listed as such with the Department of Social Welfare (Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, JKM) to be eligible to apply.

The following documents are required for the application by the registered vehicle’s owner, who is also an OKU cardholder under the category of physical disabilities.

  1. One OKU Sticker application form (Borang JPJK17).
  2. Applicant’s identification card.
  3. Original copy of OKU card. If the application is submitted by a next-of-kin, guardian or representative of the registered vehicle owner, please attach a photocopy of the OKU card.

The following documents are required if you are applying for a vehicle registered under the name of the next-of-kin/guardian of an OKU cardholder (“physical disability” category).
